It's Earth Week

Wednesday, April 22nd is Earth Day. Earth Day is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year.
The celebration of Earth Day has spread around the world with almost every country in the world now hosting environmentally-focused events.Earth Day is all about celebrating our beautiful planet and learning ways to be active in taking care of it. But in light of COVID-19, getting together with your community to celebrate is not an option, so here are some fun Earth Day kid activities to do at home with your family.
1. Pick up litter
Help clean up the planet this Earth Day by spending time picking up litter around your neighborhood.
2. Plant a tree
Trees can help with soil erosion and help get rid of air pollution, so make your mark by planting a tree this Earth Day.
3. Recycle and compost
Look at your family's trash. Glass, paper, plastic and aluminum cans can all be recycled instead of thrown away. Kitchen scraps (except for dairy and meat) can be put in a compost bin or even in a hole in the ground. It will decompose and make the soil better for growing plants.
